Lake Nakuru is world famous for, and was created a national park to protect, its stunning flocks of lesser flamingo which literally turn its shores pink. Its birdlife is rich: a beacon for leading ornithologists, scientists and wildlife film-makers. The park spans an attractive range of wooded and bush grassland around the lake, offering a wide ecological diversity, from lake water, woodland to rocky escarpments and ridges


The park offers an incredible 450 difference species of water, fish-eating, terrestrial and migratory birds


The park offers 2 public campsites and seven ‘special’ pr private campsites. These ‘special’ campsites which have no facilities must be booked in advance

Where to Stay/Accommodations

Inside the park are 2 lodges –Sarova Lion Hill Lodge and Lake Nakuru Lodge. Along the perimeter fence of the park are many other lodges and tented camps. The nearby town of Nakuru offers various other levels of accommodations.
