  • Lake Nakuru National Park and Maasai Mara Game Reserve are the 2 most visited parks in Kenya. They form the backbone of any Kenyan Safari Trip due to their popularity, uniqueness and density of wildlife and birds. One is a Unesco World Heritage site and the other is a member of the New 7 wonders of the world.

The drive from the Rift Valley view point along the 9 km stretch of road on the face of the valley wall is amazing and provides incredible views of the beautiful scenery and landscape below.

Be it as a day tour Safari from Nairobi or as part of a tour Safari in Kenya, Lake Nakuru National Park is a definition of an all fulfilling attraction within an hour’s drive from the city. Dubbed 'the greatest bird spectacle on earth' due to the millions of Fuchsia-pink flamingo that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters, Lake Nakuru is also an ornithologist's paradise with over 450 species of birds, a uniquely rewarding game-viewing venue and a sanctuary for both the black and white Rhino.

    • DAY ONE: Depart from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

The Safari trip starts at 07h30 when we pick you up from your hotel

08h00: This morning our professionally trained Safari Driver guide will pick you up from your hotel and you then depart Nairobi for the Lake Nakuru National park with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley View Point to marvel and this natural spectacle.

You later continue down the floor of the great rift valley past the dormant Mt Longonot with its with its gaping crater.

Proceed to Lake Naivasha where you can choose to take a boat ride or just pass by en route to Lake Nakuru National Park

You arrive for hot lunch at the Safari lodge or Tented Camp

After a brief rest, depart on the afternoon wildlife safari drives in the park – famous for the great masses of both greater and lesser Flamingos, the white and black rhinos grazing side by side, herds of buffaloes and a huge population of Impala and warthog. Your chances of seeing the elusive Leopard are much higher here compared only to Samburu Game Reserve. The park is also a Unesco World Heritage site as well as a Ramsar site.

    • DAY TWO: Lake Nakuru National Park to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

This day you will have early breakfast at the lodge

Then at 07h30 you will depart on a 4-5 hour drive along the length of the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara game reserve –Kenya’s all time Jewel of the parks. Indeed it’s the highlight of any professionally planned Kenya Safari Tour because of the high density of wildlife and its beautiful African Savannah landscape dominated by open plains.

Arrive at the lodge and check in before proceeding for hot lunch.

Take a short rest after lunch then at about 16h00 you will proceed to the park for wildlife Safaris viewing and later in the evening as the sun sets down over the Africa savannah landscape return back to your overnight lodge or Tented Camp.

Dinner and overnight at the Luxury Little/Main Governors Camp or Mara Serena Safari Lodge or Mara Keekorok Lodge or Mara Sopa Lodge or Salt Springs Mara Camp. (Full Board Basis)

    • DAY THREE: Full Day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve

This day you have 2 options for game safari drives, (1) you can choose to go on the usual 3 hours each morning and afternoon game viewing drives or (2) choose to go on the Half Day or Full day wildlife viewing drives with picnic lunch boxes. Option 2 is highly advisable in July to October during the Great Wildebeest Migration where you get a much better chance of seeing the famous river crossing.

This is Kenya’s prime park and never disappoints in terms of wildlife experience. Sporting a pride of Lion relaxing in the shade is highly likely. While the Cheetah might be well camouflaged in the tall grass, our well trained Safari driver guides are well tuned to pick one out even at great distances.

Elephants and thousands of other non-migratory animals are plentiful throughout the year. Over 550 hundred species of birds have been recorded here both local and migrants

The most popular months are from mid-July to late October during the migration of the wildebeest. This is the annual mass movement of over 1.5 million wildebeest accompanied by Zebra and Impalas from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania in search of pasture. Hundreds of hooves pounding the open plains accompanied by a cacophony of grunts create a spectacle to behold. Spend the nights in a relaxing room in either of the lodges below listening to the orchestra of rasping Cicadas, croaking Tree Frogs and the intermittent call of the nightjars and owls not to mention the mandatory lion roar. No need to mention the monkeys –they are quite good at announcing their presence!
